REMEDIAL CENTRE (REM)

Students studying in the regular classroom in larger group settings who have been assessed as having an educational need will receive classroom support and /or remedial intervention from Special Educators. Till class 6 a Special Educator is placed in the classroom along with the class teacher to give full learning support to the students with special needs.

From Class 7 onwards, a Special Educator with subject specific knowledge is placed in the classroom to support the students with special needs.

 

Some of the main functions of this Centre include:

  • Assisting in admission procedures

  • Addressing "Concern Forms"

  • Developing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

  • Providing classroom based support

  • Assisting in differentiated instruction

  • Providing individual remedial sessions

  • Liaising with the other boards that the school is affiliated with
