Junior School Outreach Programme

We at SBS junior school, constructed the ‘Student Outreach Programme’ to pursue and understand the spirit of compassion, to share our resources, build bridges of love and understanding between different communities. We hope our students stay true to the values of caring, sharing and respect for all beings.

The students are recipients of rich experiences at ‘Panchavati’- an old age home they visit every year. They are happy to spend time with the community of the old age home - chatting, playing board games, singing patriotic songs and planting saplings, amongst many others. It is this love for ‘Seva’ which we sincerely hope they will carry with them as they go to the senior school and the world beyond. At the end of the day, what we carry with ourselves, are the moments of love and joy in our relationships – with our grandparents, parents and friends. We have so much to learn from our elders!

Our children are fortunate to experience the range and richness of all the ‘Seva’ programmes. Both the ‘Hum’ and the ‘Dosti’ initiatives under the aegis of ‘Sadbhavna’ of the Indian Army, have helped us in our goodwill mission to bond with the students and teachers of Army Goodwill Schools at Srinagar and Bandipora. Each year, our students travel to Panna in Madhya Pradesh armed with resources donated by SBS students. We hold various student workshops at the village school- Saraswati Shishu Mandir, to promote awareness of health and hygiene, reading, sports and art education. These initiatives help our students contribute towards nation building.

Each year our little babies of the primary make ‘rakhis’ to be sent to our brother soldiers guarding our borders. Our students of Grade V had taken the initiative to celebrate ‘Bal Divas’ or ‘Children’s Day’ with the students of Prarthmik Vidyalaya, Shahpur, Noida. They devised, planned and organised a number of interesting activities for them- painting frescos to brighten up the walls of the school, story sessions and carnival games. So, social responsibility is inculcated from the very early years in our school.

We hope our students will carry this spirit of ‘Seva’ with them, always.
