As part of SBS’s continued focus on fostering a strong home-school partnership, a two-day Mathematics Workshop is being organized for parents of students in Grades 2 to 5. These sessions aim to deepen parents’ understanding of how mathematical thinking develops in children and how they can meaningfully support this process outside the classroom.
Led by experienced members of the Mathematics Faculty, the workshops will highlight strategies tailored to the developmental stages of each grade level. The sessions will cover practical ways to build number sense, encourage logical reasoning, and support problem-solving skills using simple, everyday experiences at home.
In addition to exploring useful tools and techniques, the workshop will also address common misconceptions and offer guidance on how to approach mathematics with a growth mindset. By engaging parents in this process, SBS seeks to create a consistent and supportive environment for students as they explore the world of numbers and patterns.
