Helping Yourself, Helping Your Child — Emotional Well-Being Workshop for Parents
Continuing its series of workshops focused on empowerment and guidance for parents of children with special needs, the SBS Parent School Association (PSA) hosted yet another insightful and empowering session titled as ‘Helping Yourself, Helping Your Child’ on 14th May 2025. The session was conducted by a renowned therapist.
The session focused on the emotional well-being of parents, emphasizing the deep connection between a caregiver’s inner state and a child’s healthy development. Participants explored strategies to manage negative emotions, respond to crisis situations with calm, and navigate daily challenges with greater self-awareness.
Through relatable examples and simple mental exercises, parents were guided to:
- Recognize and reduce the intensity of negative emotions
- Understand thought patterns and regain control over repetitive thinking
- Strengthen emotional regulation and respond constructively in family situations
The session reinforced a powerful message: caring for one’s inner world is essential for supporting children with clarity, compassion, and resilience.
