Celebrating Diverse Abilities

Observed globally on December 3rd, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities highlights the values of dignity, equal opportunity, and inclusion. SBS marked the occasion with a week-long Celebration of Diverse Abilities, reinforcing our commitment to fostering awareness, empathy, and respect within the community.

Anchored in the principles of seva and inclusion, the week featured thoughtfully planned, age-appropriate sensitisation sessions where students engaged with stories, discussions, videos, and a lot of reflection to better understand diverse abilities.

An Art Gallery of Strengths showcased the creativity of students with diverse learning needs. In collaboration with the Arts and Souls Foundation, children from the NGO displayed their artwork and conducted live painting sessions – giving expression to their individuality and strengths.

The week concluded with a whole-school assembly on December 5th, where student performances and reflections brought forth shared strengths, collaboration, and the power of an inclusive community.
